DENVER (KDVR) -- The Garfield County Sheriff's Office has issued an evacuation order for an area northeast of Carbondale due to a new wildfire Sunday afternoon.
Carbondale and Rural fire Protection district reported the fire before noon Sunday north of Panorama Drive, below the Ranch at Coulter Creek subdivision.
The sheriff's office has now called for evacuations of the Panorama subdivision, residences east of County Road 100 to Upper Cattle Creek, and Ranch at Coulter Creek.
Officials have not said how big the fire is, but the fire protection district said air resources were enroute.
Roaring Fork High School is the evacuation center, officials said.
