Mimi Rhodes had her playing partner to thank after a stunning hole-in-one at the Women’s Open.
The Englishwoman aced the par-three fifth hole at Royal Porthcawl in Wales during her final round on Sunday.
After finding the green, Rhodes’ ball appeared to be rolling agonisingly past the hole.
However, it miraculously deflected in off Steph Kyriacou’s ball, which had landed further to the left of the hole.
Rhodes was left in disbelief on the tee box as she covered her mouth in shock before celebrating with her caddie.
She could then be seen laughing as she made her way down towards the green.
The commentators were equally stunned as they exclaimed: “You can watch golf your whole life and never see anything like that again.”
Meanwhile, one fan on social media joked the hole-in-one was like something you’d see in the Happy Gilmore films.
Happy Gilmore 2, which was released on Netflix on July 25, sees the titular character produce a similar shot onto the green.
In the scene, Gilmore (portrayed by Adam Sandler) hits a tee shot into the group ahead of him on the green, with his ball nudging that of Tony Finau into the hole.
Reacting to Rhodes’ moment of magic, one fan commented: “I just watched this in Happy Gilmore 2.”
Fortunately for Kyriacou, meanwhile, her ball remained close enough for a tap-in birdie putt despite the deflection.

As for Rhodes, she went on to birdie the ninth hole during an inconsistent final round.
It came after dropping a shot on the par-three eighth as the opportunity for another ace passed her by.
Having started the day tied for 11th, she dropped down the leaderboard after four bogeys on Sunday.
The 23-year-old had been making her first-ever appearance at the Women’s Open.
Currently ranked 93rd in the world, Rhodes already has three wins on the European Tour despite only turning professional last year.
Who leads the Women’s Open?
Fellow English star Charley Hull was involved in a tussle for the trophy, though.
The 2023 runner-up moved up into second behind leader Miyu Yamashita after four birdies in her final round.
Hull’s surge up the leaderboard saw Yamashita’s lead reduced to just two shots.
