ROCHESTER, N.Y.- The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has issued an air quality health advisory for fine particulates for Sunday. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for fine particulates. This is a direct result of the residual wildfire smoke expected to increase during the next 24 hours. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young and those with pre-existing respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. News10NBC will update you on the air quality index (AQI) through the end of the weekend.
Otherwise, dry, hazy skies are expected over the next few days. Our weather will get progressively warmer, but the humidity will stay low which makes for overall more comfortable set-up for much of the week. Look for high temperatures in the middle to upper 80s for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
