Hollywood legend Clint Howard has opened up about his brief and impactful time on The Bold and the Beautiful. Howard’s role as Tom was his first foray into the soap world.
In July, the actor learned he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Guest Performance in a Daytime Series category. Howard used Instagram to express his gratitude for the role and the fans.

“An absolute gigantic thank you to Brad Bell #bradbell for bringing me onto the @boldandbeautifulcbs show and family. Your show was so fun to participate in playing #TOMSTARR …Tom the homeless guy, tom the happenings to be minister…Tom the guy with a new found friend @sean.kanan…Tom the guy guy with a job… Tom the old rock and Roller Rock Star…Tom the maybe father to @lisayamada… Tom the guy that drank the blue juice and died,” he wrote.
Howard went on to show his appreciation for the daytime genre, which was like nothing he had ever done before.
“It was a challenge and I have a new founded respect for Daytime television actors and the grit that they execute. Another big thanks to the academy for this nomination, it means more than words can express to this ol’ dinosaur. Thanks fans for your constant support and enjoyment of the entertainment I’ve been fortunate to do. #manythanks #nominated #boldandthebeautiful #daytimesoaps #emmyawards #emmys,” Howard ended his caption.
