2025 Summer Championships
August 5-8, 2025 Irvine, California LCM (50 meters) Psych SheetsThe US will host the Summer Championships in Irvine, California this upcoming week. Among the big names on the psych sheet include Caeleb Dressel and Hunter Armstrong both of which did not compete at US Summer Nationals in June. Several swimmers who are currently representing the US at the 2025 World Championships appear on the psych sheets as well. Those include Sandpipers of Nevada teammates Claire Weinsten and Bella Sims.
Dressel has raced in two meets since representing the US at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He first swam at the Pro Series stop in Fort Lauderdale and just competed at the Florida Senior Championships two weeks ago. Caeleb and Meghan Dressel welcomed their second baby in at the end of June.

50 free: #1 seed 100 fly: #1 seed 50 fly: #1 seedArmstrong also did not compete at US Summer Nationals but represented the US at the Paris Olympics last summer. In May, Armstrong opened up on Instagram about having to take a step away from training and competition last fall. He also had previously expected the Fort Lauderdale Pro Series to be the last meet of his career. Armstrong has not competed since the Pro Series, and is entered in five events in Irvine.

50 free: #11 seed 100 free: #1 seed 50 fly: #22 seed (yards entry time) 100 back: #1 seed 50 back: #1 seed2020 Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist in the 400 free Kieran Smith is also on the psych sheets. Smith missed the US Worlds team despite a 6th place finish in the 200 freestyle as the US men were at the 26 swimmer roster limit. He is the top seed in the 200 free and 200 IM. Smith is the #2 seed in the 400 free behind fellow 2024 Paris Olympian Aaron Shackell.
Aaron Shackell is also entered in the 100 free (#14 seed) and 200 free (#3 seed). He notably is not entered in the 200 fly, an event he was 10th in at 2025 US Summer Nationals.
Sister Alex Shackell, who also represented the US at the Paris Olympics, is on the psych sheets as the top seed in the 100 fly and 200 fly as well as the #8 seed in the 100 free. She is not entered in the 200 free, the event in which she earned her first spot on the US major international roster as she was 5th in the 200 free back at 2023 US Summer Nationals, punching her ticket to 2023 Worlds as a member of the women’s 4×200 free relay.
Sandpipers of Nevada teammates Bella Sims and Claire Weinstein are currently in Singapore representing the US but also appear on the psych sheets. Sims is entered in seven events including the 200 freestyle where she is the #2 seed behind Weinstein. Weinstein has five event entries and is the top seed in the 100 free, 200 free, 400 free, and 800 free. Weinstein’s 5th event is the 50 breast.
