“We need to come to a conclusion where both parties can be in a happy place for both sides, but if you don’t talk, this is what happens when you don’t talk to the merchants, when you don’t communicate, then all these problems arise,” Albert Algarin, the association’s president said.
Algarin mentioned that many merchants might agree to close early but not as early as 4 p.m. He expects most businesses to remain open.
Merchants who do not comply with the city’s order could face misdemeanor charges. Some people plan to walk along North Clinton Avenue from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. tomorrow to show support for local businesses.
