Two men were injured in a shooting on Friday afternoon in the Avondale neighborhood on Chicago’s Northwest Side, police stated.
The shooting was reported at approximately 4:52 p.m. in the 3000 block of North St. Louis Avenue near West Barry Avenue. According to police, two men were near the sidewalk when they were struck by gunfire.
A 20-year-old man was struck in the shoulder and taken to an area hospital in critical condition. The second victim, a 29-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound to the arm, police stated. He was hospitalized in good condition.
As of late Friday night, no arrests had been made. Detectives were investigating.
