Officials with Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton says locals can expect increased noises in and around coastal North County over the next several days.
The military base said that they will be conducting live-fire training with high-explosive munitions. That means that rumbles and explosions from the training may be heard at any time during the day or night, base officials said.
Depending on atmospheric conditions, the explosions might be heard as far as 50 miles away from the base.
The exercises have been off and on throughout the last several weeks, but they will be increasing again through August 10.
