A 55-year-old man was hospitalized after he suffered several broken bones in a multi-vehicle crash in Pacific Beach, police said Thursday.
San Diego police officers responded at 5:51 p.m. Wednesday to the 2300 block of Grand Avenue where they learned a woman, 66, had been traveling east in the number one lane in a Nissan pickup.
Another driver, 32, was traveling east in the number two lane in a Chevrolet Camaro, said Officer Jose Perales.
The victim approached in slow traffic and collided with the right rear of the woman’s pickup. The injured man and the pickup truck then struck the back of the Camaro.
The victim sustained a compound fracture to his arm, a fractured femur, a fractured tibia and fibula. Police said alcohol played a role in the crash.
The department’s Traffic Division will be handling the investigation.
