Jeremy Clarkson has shared "bad news" from his Oxfordshire farm, announcing that some of the animals in Diddly Squat have contracted tuberculosis.

In a post shared on X (previously known as Twitter), Clarkson wrote: "Bad news from Diddly Squat. We've gone down with TB. Everyone here is absolutely devastated."

Clarkson also confirmed that the animal in question who contracted the virus is "pregnant with twins".

The presenter clarified that Diddly Squat has "bovine TB", which doesn't affect people but rather the cattle that live on the farm.

Bovine TB is a respiratory disease which is caused by a bacterium, and cattle can become infected if directly exposed to infectious cattle and their excretions.

In response to one fan sharing well wishes and hopes for the cows' recoveries, Clarkson replied: "They have to be culled. It's the law."

He shared that he hoped Aberdeen Angus bull Endgame would be OK amid the infection, noting that his test was "inconclusive".

It's possible that these sad moments could be shown in Clarkson's Farm season 5, with filming still taking place for the Prime Video series.

Having launched back in 2021, the series has been a popular original title for the streamer, but Clarkson has suggested that the fifth season could be its last for a while.

He told The Times of London: "I'd do a sixth if there was a reason for doing it, like a bloody good story… Whatever happens we’ll definitely take a short break as the crews are all worn out.

"We’ve been filming here two or three days a week, every week, for five years. Everybody could do with a rest."

There is currently no word on when season 5 could make its way to Prime Video, but it's likely a return to Diddly Squat could be on the cards in 2026.
