LSU offensive lineman Solomon Thomas will miss about a month with a foot injury, head coach Brian Kelly announced Wednesday.
Kelly told reporters that Thomas broke the fifth metatarsal in his foot. On the bright side for LSU, Kelly indicated that no one else is dealing with a significant injury at the start of fall camp.

— Matt Moscona (@MattMoscona) July 30, 2025Thomas was one of LSU’s biggest additions this offseason. He was the No. 41 overall player and the No. 2 interior offensive lineman in his high school recruiting class, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Thomas enrolled at LSU back in January and could see some playing time as a true freshman.
However, missing fall camp will make it more difficult for Thomas to see in the field during his first season in Baton Rouge.
Offensive line remains a major question mark going into 2025 as the Tigers are tasked with replacing first-round pick Will Campbell along with 3 other starters from last season. Listed at 6-foot-4, Thomas is expected to play tackle at LSU. Even if he doesn’t get on the field much in 2025, Thomas is expected to be part of LSU’s future at that position.
LSU will open the season with Clemson next month.
