PENFIELD, N.Y. — The MLB reports that Penfield native and Yankees No. 18 prospect Gage Ziehl will be heading to the White Sox organization in exchange for outfielder Austin Slater.

Ziehl, a right-handed pitcher was originally drafted by the Cubs in 2021 but opted to play at the University of Miami instead. In 2024, he was drafted to the Yankees as their 119th pick.

    That same year, Greece Athena graduate Casey Saucke, who is currently with the White Sox organization, was their 107th pick.
