Astros Throwing the Third Base Market for a Loop?

Over the winter, the Chicago Cubs traded third baseman Isaac Paredes to the Houston Astros in the Kyle Tucker deal, after which Nolan Arenado rejected a trade to the Astros for fear that they might be rebuilding.

Those storylines are still intertwined, as Paredes now has a serious hamstring injury and might miss the rest of the season. That means the Astros may once again try to acquire Arenado, or they may try to trade for Eugenio Suarez, who is obviously connected to the Cubs by rumors, too.

Bob Nightengale reports that the Astros are exploring trades for Arenado, Suarez, and – most interestingly – their old friend Carlos Correa. That’d be pretty wild, to see Correa returning to Houston after his time with the Twins (and all the weird contract stuff that came with it).

A local reporter, by the way, is hearing that the Correa stuff is legit:

The Astros and Twins are talking about what it would look like to trade Carlos Correa. IT'S REAL FOLKS!! Confirming, @BNightengale's report. Correa has a no-trade clause and I have heard he'd only waive it for the Astros.

Ideally, that’s the way this would go. I don’t particularly want to see the Cardinals getting value in trade for Nolan Arenado, and I certainly don’t want to see the Astros make the Eugenio Suarez trade market all the more difficult.
