WEBSTER, N.Y. — A community meeting in Webster Wednesday night will discuss the construction of a 60-foot Verizon cell tower at the corner of Portland Avenue and Oneida Street.
Many residents of Webster have expressed concerns about the potential health hazards and the projects visual impact. One resident, Andre Morrison, created a petition against the cell tower.

Verizon says it is trying to improve service in an area it now calls a “grey zone.” When News10NBC’s Tom Kowalski visited the area in April where the proposed cell tower will go, he saw he was getting anywhere from one to two bars of cell service.
The meeting will start at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at 1491 on Providence Drive in Webster.
