Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected areas in the state to assess the damage caused by relentless rainfall and overflowing rivers.
Accompanied by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, and Special Relief Commissioner DK Singh, the Chief Minister flew over some of the worst-hit districts where villages, farmlands, and key infrastructure remain submerged.
The aerial inspection focused on evaluating real-time conditions in severely inundated areas, identifying critical relief needs, and formulating immediate response strategies.
The government is prioritizing the mobilization of rescue teams, provision of food and drinking water, and restoration of connectivity in affected regions, officials said.
Further ground-level assessments and relief operations are expected to follow based on the findings of the survey.
