On Monday evening, a shooting was reported at a Manhattan skyscraper located at 345 Park Avenue, also known as the building that houses the NFL’s league offices.
NFL Headquarters Reportedly the Target of NYC Shooter
According to various reports (including a memo from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell), four victims died in the shooting, and more were injured, including an NFL employee. Among the deceased was NYPD police officer Didarul Islam. The offender was located, deceased, on the 33rd floor of the building with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
Reports this morning point to the league offices as the intended target of the gunman, Shane Tamura. A note found in Tamura’s wallet was critical of the NFL and mentioned CTE. New York City Mayor Eric Adams told FOX News on Tuesday that the shooter’s focus was on the league office and mentioned former NFL player Terry Long, who died by suicide in 2005.

— Josh Breslow (@JoshBreslowTV) July 29, 2025“The motive appeared to be connected to the shooter’s belief that he was suffering from CTE and (a claim that) he was an ex-NFL player,” Adams told FOX News. “Those items just don’t pan out. He never played for the NFL.”
Adams also said that Tamura took the wrong elevator, which is why the bulk of the shootings took place on the 33rd floor. You can read more about last night’s senseless violence at The Athletic:

Titans Waive Injured WR Treylon Burks
The Tennessee Titans waived wide receiver Treylon Burks on Monday, following an injury during practice on Saturday that resulted in a broken collarbone.
Burks was selected by Tennessee in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft as part of the trade that sent A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles on draft night. As a rookie, Burks caught 33 passes for 444 yards and a touchdown in 11 games, but caught only 16 passes for 221 yards during his sophomore campaign in 2023. A knee injury limited Burks to just five games last season, where he caught four passes for 34 yards and no touchdowns.
With Burks entering the final year of his rookie deal and expected to miss significant time again with an injury, Tennessee decided to move on from the former first-rounder. Due to various injuries, Burks was limited to only 27 games in three seasons with the Titans.
All said, this is what Tennessee’s return for Brown looks like today:

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton landed a new four-year, $92 million extension on Monday. The team’s second-longest-tenured player will remain with the team through the 2029 season. Sutton was approaching the end of his most recent contract, signed with the team in 2021.
Following a career-high 81 receptions and 7.94 targets per game during his first season in Sean Payton’s offense and with Bo Nix under center, 2025 will be the first time in Sutton’s career that he’s had the same starting quarterback and play-caller in place in consecutive seasons. In addition to his career-best 81 catches last season, Sutton recorded 1,081 yards and eight touchdowns for Denver.
The former second-round pick in 2018 has 379 catches for 5,340 yards and 32 touchdowns in seven seasons in Denver.

The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand reported that YouTube has signed former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner to serve as its new lead game analyst for its first-ever exclusive NFL broadcast this season between the Chiefs and Chargers. According to Marchand, they are still searching for their play-by-play caller. I wrote last week that a new deal is likely on the horizon for Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield. On Monday, the two sides agreed to a restructured contract that will guarantee Mayfield $30 million in 2026, a year in which nothing was previously guaranteed. It’s not quite a new deal, but it’s a good-faith gesture by Tampa, which seems committed to doing whatever it can to keep Mayfield long-term. Cowboys tackle Tyler Guyton suffered a knee injury during Monday’s practice and is expected to miss four to six weeks with a bone fracture and sprained knee. Guyton could be ready for the Cowboys’ season opener on September 4, but will miss the entire camp and the preseason. According to James Boyd, the Indianapolis Colts and left tackle Bernhard Raimann have agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract extension. The new deal includes $60 million guaranteed for Raimann, who was a third-round selection in 2022.Hence then, the article about around the nfl nfl headquarters tragedy sutton extension burks cut more was published today ( ) and is available on Bleacher Nation ( Middle East ) The editorial team at PressBee has edited and verified it, and it may have been modified, fully republished, or quoted.
