Jake Paul has added four new current and former world champions to his star-studded female boxing roster.
His promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), announced on Tuesday that they have snapped up Britain’s ex-WBA bantamweight champion Shannon Courtenay; the United States’ reigning WBA super-flyweight title holder Jasime Artiga; unified IBF and WBO middleweight queen Desley Robinson of Australia; and Mexico’s former unified WBA and WBC junior flyweight titleholder Yesica Nery Plata.
Alongside those already established names, MVP also added 19-year-old amateur standout Sa’Rai Brown-El to their books.
“Women’s boxing has never been stronger globally, and today’s signings further cement MVP’s commitment to continuing to invest and elevate the sport like no boxing promotional brand has before,” said MVP co-founders Paul and Nakisa Bidarian.
“Shannon, Desley, Jasmine, Sa’Rai, and Yesica represent five powerful stories, four countries with proud boxing legacies, and one shared mission: to compete and win at the highest level.
“The UK has the best concentration of elite female boxers in the world, and MVP is strategically focused on building out a robust British roster that will allow us to bring MVP events to the market.
“Shannon joins Ellie Scotney, Chantelle Cameron, Savannah Marshall and Ramla Ali, who are all power players in women’s boxing.”
Courtenay (9-3) will be the name most familiar to boxing fans on British shores.
The 32-year-old emerged as one of the faces of British women’s boxing during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and famously defeated Ebanie Bridges for the vacant WBA bantamweight title at the Copper Box Arena in April 2021.
The Abbots Langley boxer has only competed three times since her crowning night, but is ready to revive her career with MVP, who also recently signed Bridges.
“My main focus is becoming a two-time world champion, and with the backing of MVP, I know I can go on to win more titles,” said Courtenay.
“Women’s boxing was beginning to get forgotten about again.

“But then MVP have come along, ripped up the script, and made it bigger than ever. I can’t wait to get amongst it!”
Nery Plata (30-2), much like Courtenay, has been very inactive in recent years, having not stepped between the ropes since 2023.
Last time out, she retained her WBA and WBC light-flyweight belts against Sarah Bormann via split decision.
However, she has since been stripped of both titles.
Artiga (13-0-1) is due to defend her WBA super flyweight title against Linn Sandstrom on an MVP Fight Night in Orlando, Florida, on August 23.
She picked up the black and gold strap in March by defeating Regina Chavez over the distance.
Courtenay beat Bridges in 2021Mark Robinson/MatchroomRobinson (10-3) overcame Chloe Chaos in April to unify the WBO belt with the IBF title she won by outpointing Kaye Scott.
She overcame the odds to defeat Scott with a fractured foot.
Brown-El (0-0) will make her professional debut with MVP following a glittering amateur career that included 19 US national titles.
Branded the “future of women’s boxing” by Team USA, she is certainly one to watch.
