Headed to the OC Fair this week? Here are some things to know.
General information:
• Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and 11 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
• General admission is $13 on Wednesdays and Thursdays and $15 on Fridays and weekends; tickets are $9 every day for children 6-12 and seniors 60 and older.
• Tickets must be purchased ahead online at ocfair.com. Daily attendance is capped at about 50,000 people and may sell out on popular days.
• Parking is $15
• OC Fair Express runs weekends, with direct bus service from the ARTIC station in Anaheim, Fullerton Park-and-Ride, Goldenwest Transportation Center in Huntington Beach, the Laguna Hills Transportation Center and the Santa Ana train station. Get information on times and locations at ocfair.com, cost is $2 each way.

Things to do:
• Get up close with sea creatures at the fair’s Orange County Sand and Sea exhibit in the OC Promenade building. There is a touch tank with aquatic life that is open from noon to 6:30 p.m. daily.
• Check out a woodworking and scroll saw demonstration in the Visual Arts & Woodworking Gallery from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
• Put on your dancing shoes (though you’ll want to make sure they are also comfortable walking shoes) for Fair After Dark, a weekend party at the Plaza Pacifico. There will be swing dancing on Fridays, a DJ on Saturdays and Latin dancing on Sundays each weekend of the fair, all for free starting at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 7:30 p.m. on Sundays..
• Cheer on the All-Alaskan Racing Pigs; races start every hour and a half beginning at 2 p.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays and 12:30 p.m. on the weekends in the Plaza Pacifica. The last race is 8 p.m. each day.
• Check out the Magic of Frank Thurston at 2, 4 and 6 p.m. daily on the OC Promenade Stage.
In the Action Sports Arena (requires a ticket purchased in advance, but includes fair admission):
• July 30: Motorhome Madness Demolition Derby at 7:30 p.m.
• July 31: Motorhome Madness Demolition Derby at 7:30 p.m.
• Aug. 1: Orange Crush Demolition Derby at 7:30 p.m.
• Aug. 2: Damsels of Destruction Demolition Derby at 7:30 p.m.
• Aug. 3: Orange Crush Demolition Derby at 7:30 p.m.
Playing at the Hangar (requires a ticket purchased in advance, but includes fair admission):
• July 30: Elton – The Early Years tribute band at 8:15 p.m.
• July 31: Green Today, A Tribute to Green Day at 8:15 p.m.
• Aug. 1: DSB, a Journey tribute band at 8:15 p.m.
• Aug. 2: Which One’s Pink? A Tribute to the Music of Pick Floyd at 8:15 p.m.
• Aug. 3: Embajadores del Mariachi: Sol de Mexico de Jose Hernandez at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Playing at the Pacific Amphitheatre (requires a ticket purchased in advance, but includes fair admission):
• July 30: Beck with the Pacific Symphony and Molly Lewis at 7:30 p.m.
• July 31: KC & The Sunshine Band and Village People at 7:30 p.m.
• Aug. 1: Oliver Anthony at 7:30 p.m.
• Aug. 2: The Fab Four at 8 p.m.
• Aug. 3: -X-, Los Lobos and Ozomatli at 6:30 p.m.
