Human remains found in Rocky Mountain National Park last month have been identified as 40-year-old Steven Noto.
Noto, who is from Western New York, was found near the Alpine Ridge Trail on June 18, and was positively and scientifically identified through dental record comparison by the Office of the Larimer County Coroner, according to a Monday press release.
The manner of death was unable to be determined by the coroner’s office because the remains were mostly skeletonized by the time they were found. Foul play has been ruled out, according to the press release. Noto is believed to have died in November.
National Park Service rangers responded to the scene and led the investigation.
