Sheinelle Jones continues to mourn her husband's death in private. The beloved Today show anchor has not been on the air since December, when she took a leave of absence from the morning show to care for him.

Jones' husband, Uche Ojeh, died in May after a battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer He was 45 years old.

The morning show mainstay has also reportedly pushed her memoir, Through Mom's Eyes, to February 2026, according to publisher Penguin Random House (as reported by The U.S. Sun). It was initially set to come out in April.

Jones and Ojeh, who shared three children — Kayin, 15, and twins Uche and Clara, 12 — had been married for 17 years at the time of his death.

Earlier this month, Jones' continued absence from the show was explained by Today meteorologist Dylan Dreyer. “She’s in mom mode right now,” Dreyer told Access Hollywood. “She has three young kids that she has to care for. It’s a really tough time for the family.”
