Sheinelle Jones continues to mourn her husband's death in private. The beloved Today show anchor has not been on the air since December, when she took a leave of absence from the morning show to care for him.
Jones' husband, Uche Ojeh, died in May after a battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer He was 45 years old.

"There are no words for the pain that we feel for Sheinelle and their three young children," Guthrie said. "Uche was an incredible person. We all loved him." The longtime Today anchor stated that Ojeh and Jones were a "perfect match — a man whose joyful spirit and quiet strength complemented Sheinelle in every way."
Following Guthrie's announcement — and the moving tribute Jones' Today family played on-air for Ojeh — Jones took to Instagram to share a video with a black-and-white cover image of her late husband, thanking her colleagues and fans for being there for her during this difficult time.
"Thank you, for all of your love and support. ❤️," Jones captioned the video.

In April, Jones' Today colleagues spoke to Access Hollywood about Jones' break from the show as she continues to grieve her late husband.
"I just talked to her a couple days ago," Craig Melvin shared with the outlet on April 12. "As you know, she's taking some time to be with her family and we talk to her all the time." He added: "We love our girl. It's been nice to see how much everyone else loves her, too."
Dreyer added: "She misses being here. She wishes she was here with us but she's doing what she needs to do. And she'll be back."
