Thompson is listed as measuring 6-3 and 300 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Thompson is rated 3-stars, the No. 134 interior offensive lineman, No. 178 player in the state of Florida and No. 1,610 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.
During his recruitment, Thompson collected scholarship offers from 22 programs. Auburn, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss, NC State and Texas A&M were among the other programs to show interest. Mississippi State was actually the most recent team to get in the mix, offering Thompson on June 23.
Thompson is the younger brother of former Georgia standout Nolan Smith Jr., a Super Bowl winner with the Philadelphia Eagles.
