WEST FORK, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Arkansas State Police are investigating a double homicide after a man and woman were found dead on a trail in a state park on Saturday.
Police were called to Devil's Den State Park, about 25 miles south of Fayetteville, shortly before 3 p.m. A 43-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were found dead on a walking trail within the park, authorities said in a news release.
Authorities said they are searching for a suspect described as a white male wearing dark shorts, a dark tank top and weightlifting-style gloves. He was reportedly seen driving a black four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, with a license plate obscured by electrical or duct tape.
The suspect was last seen heading toward the park exit and may have traveled along State Highway 170 or State Highway 220.

“We are heartbroken by today’s horrific news from Devil’s Den State Park and are in close contact with State Police and the Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism as they work to apprehend the suspect," Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement. "We are praying for the family and friends of the victims, and know that law enforcement will not rest until the perpetrator is brought to justice.”
The FBI's Little Rock Office said it had been in contact with Arkansas State Police and "is poised to assist, if needed."
