ROCHESTER, N.Y. – It will be another 72 hours of heat and humidity for Western New York. It appears both Monday and Tuesday will be near 90 degrees again, but the heat index (temperature and humidity) should stay under 100 degrees – if that is any consolation. We are waiting for the passage of several cold fronts by mid-week which will suppress the tropical air to the south of Rochester. This will bring several days of comfortable weather for the start of the month of August.
Tonight, look for mainly clear or hazy skies. It will be a muggy night with the low temperature within a few degrees of 70. Monday and Tuesday will feature more sunshine and tropical air with both days near 90 degrees. The heat will begin to break later Wednesday with the chance of a thundershower. Then a “breath of fresh air” by Thursday and Friday as we can look forward to a significant drop in the heat and humidity through the end of the week.
