The Australians opted to use their #2 swimmer from Trials, Olivia Wunsch, leaving Meg Harris off the relay. Their biggest competitors, the United States, are resting both Gretchen Walsh and Torri Huske, both of whom are entered in the 100 fly prelims. China is doing the same, leaving Zhang Yufei off the prelims relay, as she too has the 100 fly.
The Canadians are going with their four fastest swimmers from Trials, but could swap in Mary-Sophie Harvey and Summer McIntosh tonight. The Italians, Dutch, and French are also fielding strong teams led by Sara Curtis, Marrit Stennbergen, and Beryl Gastaldello.
