The event will take place from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 30 and will discuss the Catalyst and Cascadia developments. Mayor Pro-Tem Dale Hall will join other city leaders and project experts to share updates and hear from the community.
“This is a chance for residents to engage directly with city leadership and the project experts, ask questions, share concerns, and be part of the conversation shaping Greeley’s future,” Director of Communication and Engagement Winna Ironkwe said in a city news release.
The controversial project, which aims to develop a new luxury hotel, waterpark and a hockey arena that could serve as the new home for the Colorado Eagles, has come under scrutiny due to its complex funding method. Residents believe the project’s estimated cost of $1.1 billion should have entitled them to a vote on the project, and a group of residents are attempting to get a citizens’ initiative on the ballot regarding this decision.
During the event, residents will also have the opportunity to participate in live polls, allowing them to share their input in real-time. The telephone town hall will be available in English and Spanish.
