DENVER (KDVR) — A pedestrian died Friday night after being hit by a car in southeastern Denver.
According to the Denver Police Department, the crash occurred at the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South Parker Road, which is on the edge of the Hampden neighborhood and the city of Aurora.
It was reported by the department on X at about 9:15 p.m.
Police initially reported the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. However, police said he succumbed to his injuries from his crash and was declared dead.
The motorist reportedly remained on scene and has been cooperating with police investigators.
A FOX31 photojournalist went to the scene on Friday night and found a large police presence shutting down one of the roadways. It's unknown how long that closure could last.
