A Florida Chuck E. Cheese employee has gone viral after police arrested him in the middle of his shift, leading him out of the children's arcade in his full mascot regalia—and in cuffs.
Photos of the moment quickly spread across the internet on Thursday, July 24, showing a uniformed officer leading the costumed individual, who was clad in a pair of oversized red shoes, jeans, a green and purple jersey, and a giant mouse head, through the front doors of the Tallahassee location and parading him through the parking lot.
The Tallahassee Democrat reported that the individual in the costume, Jermell Jones, was taken into custody on Wednesday, July 23, and charged with three felonies: theft of credit card, criminal use of personal identification information and fraudulent use of a credit over two times within six months. According to the publication, he has already been released on bond.

She traced the activity to an employee, allegedly Jones, who was checking stamps at the front door at the time. When police arrived to make the arrest, he was dressed as the beloved Charles Entertainment Cheese.
Some internet users criticized the department for making such a public arrest—not to mention cuffing him in full costume—but the spokesperson explained that their intention had been to walk him outside out of public view before he reportedly resisted.
“It is unfortunate that the person who is subject of this investigation and who we had probable cause on happened to be in a suit and in costume,” the spokesperson said, additionally confirming that officers found the stolen credit card in Jones' possession.
Additional footage shared online shows one of the officers unmasking Jones before placing him into the back of his car.
