Pair of former Cardinals announce retirements from the NFL

Football has given me more than I could have ever imagined. Purpose, discipline, brotherhood and a platform to impact others. But most importantly it showed me who I am outside the game.

I leave this chapter with deep gratitude for every lesson, challenge and victory. I’m proud of what I accomplished on the field, but even more proud of the man I’ve become because of it.

Pugh retired Friday as a member of the New York Giants where he was drafted 19th overall in the 2013 NFL Draft and played six of his 11 seasons. Pugh last played in 2023 with the Giants.

The news of Hicks and Pugh’s retirements comes after former Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu announced his retirement on Tuesday.

Jordan Hicks’ career in the NFL

Drafted in the third round by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2015 NFL Draft, Hicks played his first four seasons with the Eagles where he won a Super Bowl with the team in 2017.
