STATESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A search warrant for suspected drug sales led to a man charged with attempted murder being arrested again, according to the Iredell County Sheriff's Office.
On Thursday, July 24, the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT), in partnership with narcotics investigators, carried out a search warrant at a home on Forest Park Drive. This was part of an extensive investigation into illegal cocaine sales in the area.

Authorities say they seized three-quarters of a pound of powdered cocaine, two guns and $3,000, believed to be drug proceeds. The drugs have a street value of $33,600.
Marlon O’Neal Dalton, 50, who lives at the home, was arrested and booked into the Iredell County Detention Center. He is charged with the following:
Felony Level 2 Trafficking of a Schedule II Controlled Substance Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance Felony Maintaining a Dwelling Place for the Sale or Use of a Controlled SubstanceDalton is pictured with the items seized. At the time of the arrest, Dalton was out on bond for another case where he is charged with:
Felony Attempted First-Degree Murder Felony Habitual Felon Felony Possession of a Stolen Firearm Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted FelonDalton is currently being held without bond and has a court appearance on September 2.
“This arrest results from weeks of diligent investigative work," said Sheriff Campbell. "Our office remains committed to keeping illegal drugs and dangerous individuals off the streets by targeting repeat offenders who refuse to be law-abiding members of society. Due to the extremely violent nature of this suspect, our SERT Unit was utilized. This highly trained team is exactly who violent repeat offenders will meet on arrests when they are called upon to execute high-risk search and arrest warrants”.
