Less than two months ago, Taylor Swift bought the masters of the original recordings of her first six albums from private equity firm Shamrock Holdings, giving her the legal rights to how her music is used and distributed.
Now Kelly Clarkson has gone the other way — on Thursday, July 24, Clarkson announced that she has sold part of her song catalogue to HarbourView Equity Partners.
According to the press release, the acquisition includes Clarkson's iconic hits "Since U Been Gone," "Because of You," "Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)," "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and "Underneath the Tree."
"My music is such a huge part of my journey – not just professionally, but personally," said Clarkson in a statement. “Knowing these songs will continue to be heard and discovered by new generations means everything to me. I’m grateful to HarbourView for valuing and supporting this catalogue the way they do.”

This announcement comes on the heels of NBC revealing that Clarkson will be back on The Voice for the 29th season of the long-running music competition series. The spring 2026 season is subtitled "Battle of the Champions" and it will see Clarkson return alongside fellow returning coaches Adam Levine and John Legend.
