Apple introduced its latest innovation in device protection: the AppleCare One plan. Retailing at $19.99 per month, this subscription service is designed to cover up to three of the user’s Apple devices, offering a comprehensive suite of benefits that extend beyond traditional warranties. The plan not only includes unlimited repairs for accidental damage and 24/7 priority support but also introduces theft and loss protection specifically for iPads and Apple Watches . This initiative reflects Apple's commitment to enhancing customer experience while addressing the growing need for multifaceted device coverage.
Apple is announcing a new AppleCare subscription called AppleCare One that lets you cover multiple products with a single plan. For $19.99 per month, AppleCare One covers up to three products, and tacking on a new product costs $5.99 per month each.
With the products covered under AppleCare One, you get the same coverage you would under AppleCare Plus, including battery coverage, unlimited repairs for accidental damage, and 24/7 priority support.
If you subscribe to AppleCare One, you can also add products that are up to four years old to your plan — a big jump from the 60-day window you have to add AppleCare Plus coverage to a product after you buy it. However, Apple says that older products that you add to your AppleCare One subscription have to be in “good condition” and that the company may run diagnostic checks on them before adding them to your plan. Apple will also only allow you to add headphones to an AppleCare One plan if they are less than a year old.
AppleCare One also simplifies plan management. When a customer trades in a covered product directly to Apple, it is automatically removed from their AppleCare One plan and replaced with the new device. In addition, as a monthly plan, AppleCare One makes it easy for customers to maintain coverage for as long as they’d like across as many products as they want, including the ability to move products in and out of their plan at any time.
One of the most notable features of the AppleCare One plan is its inclusivity regarding device age and condition. Customers can add products that are up to four years old to their coverage, provided these devices remain in good condition . This flexibility allows consumers who own older devices to benefit from insurance options that were previously unavailable or limited under standard policies. Furthermore, users have the option to add additional devices for an extra fee of $5.99 per month each, making it a scalable solution tailored to individual needs .
The introduction of AppleCare One marks a significant shift in how consumers interact with technology insurance services. By bundling coverage for multiple devices into one manageable monthly payment, Apple not only simplifies access but also enhances consumer confidence in their product investments . As technology continues to evolve rapidly and become more integrated into daily life, plans like AppleCare One are likely to play an essential role in protecting consumer interests and promoting sustainable usage patterns.
