Pike and MBenga Infiltrate Klingon Space on This Weeks Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

After waiting over a year, fans of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds welcomed Season 3 of the show with open arms. We were all excited to see the conclusion of last season's cliffhanger when the landing party of the U.S.S. Enterprise was taken by the Gorn.

For fans of the show that will be attending San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, be sure to check out the immersive experience that will take place on Saturday, July 26 in the Gaslamp Quarter. The area will be transformed into a living stage, as fans journey through five immersive, "strange new worlds" inspired by this season's genre-bending episodes: A noir murder mystery, a zombie horror, a '60s retro mission, a Vulcan wedding, and plenty of sci-fi mayhem. Performances will be popping up at the Interactive Zone at Petco Park between 3:00 and 4:00pm and outside the Paramount+ Lodge between 6:00 and 8:00pm. Follow @StarTrek social handles to learn about additional performance locations.

As we head into the third episode of the new season, read on for more details on "Shuttle to Kenfori," where Pike (Anson Mount) and Dr. M'Benga (Babs Olusanmokun) go in search of a cure for Marie (Melanie Scrofano), but encounter Klingons along the way.

Last week's Season 3 premiere was comprised of two separate episodes. In "Hegemony, Part II," we picked up where Season 2 ended. The landing party and other inhabitants of Parnassus Beta were taken by the Gorn before Enterprise could beam them to safety, and Marie had been infected by the Gorn. Scotty (Martin Quinn) and Pelia (Carol Kane) were racing against the clock to recreate Scotty's Gorn transponder. The landing party found themselves in a goo-filled digestion chamber of the Gorn while Nurse Chapel (Jess Bush) and Spock (Ethan Peck) tried to find a cure for Marie. By episode's end, the crew and the planet's inhabitants were back on the Enterprise, and the Gorn were put into a long hibernation state. Ortegas (Melissa Navia) was critically injured, and by using Una's (Rebecca Romijn) Illyrian DNA, Nurse Chapel was able to fashion a remedy (for now) for Marie.

In the second episode, "Wedding Bell Blues," a new bartender on the Enterprise named "Trelane" (Rhys Darby) wreaked havoc on the Enterprise by granting Spock's wish after he saw Chapel return from her three-month fellowship with her fellowship director and new boyfriend, Dr. Korby (Cillian O'Sullivan), in tow. The entire ship believed the two were there to celebrate Spock and Chapel's nuptials, and the only one who seemed to know the truth was Korby. Eventually, Spock came to his senses, and together they were able to right the wrong Trelane had caused. We also learned that Trelane was related to the Q Continuum and one Q, in particular (John de Lancie), as many have suspected over the years. Ortegas was haunted by Gorn ghosts, and Oretgas' little brother, Beto (Mynor Luken) took a shine to Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding). In addition, who knew Wham! would still be popular in the 23rd century?
