SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) -- The brother of late NFL star Pat Tillman remains locked inside a San Jose jail Tuesday and accused of ramming his car into a federal post office.
Richard Tillman, 44, of San Jose, was arrested after his car crashed into a U.S. Post Office near Almaden Country Club at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, police and fire officials said. The building went up in flames, and no injuries were reported. Investigators said the collision may have been intentional.
Richard Tillman is scheduled to make his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon for an arraignment. He's being held in custody on $61,000 bail, jail inmate records show.

"To be clear, it’s no secret that Richard has been battling severe mental health issues for many years," the family's statement said. "He has been livestreaming, what I’ll call, his altered self on social media for anyone to witness. Unfortunately, securing the proper care and support for him has proven incredibly difficult — or rather, impossible. As a result, none of this is as shocking as it should be."

Pat Tillman was a Bay Area native who chose to leave the Arizona Cardinals NFL team following 9/11 and enlist in the U.S. Army. The professional football player-turned Army Ranger was tragically killed in action by friendly fire while fighting in Afghanistan in 2004.

"I didn't write s**t because I'm not a writer. It was really amazing to be his little baby brother," he said at the funeral. "Pat is a f**king champion and always will be."
After his brother's death, Richard Tillman worked as an actor. In recent months, he made strange statements in a series of livestreamed YouTube videos. His YouTube account was deleted by Tuesday afternoon.

In a video uploaded five days before the crash — which also has since been removed — Tillman went on a profanity-laced diatribe about getting retribution for wrongs against him, referring to 'Richard Tillman' as a past version of himself whom he was seeking vengeance for, one that no longer existed as he became 'Yeshua.'"
