A KANSAS City Chiefs Super Bowl star has shockingly retired from the NFL.

Defensive back Tyrann Mathieu is hanging up his cleats after 12 years in the NFL.

    Mathieu was drafted with a third-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals.

    He spent five seasons with the team before being released.

    In 2018 he signed with the Houston Texans, where he played just one season.

    Mathieu signed with the Chiefs in 2019, where he played three seasons and won the Super Bowl.

    The last three seasons of his career were played with the New Orleans Saints.

    Mathiew finished his career as a three-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro, and a Super Bowl champion.
