(KRON) -- When news first broke in April 2024 about a Filipino supermarket chain Seafood City opening another Peninsula location, it was met with great excitement, especially within the large local Filipino community. More than a year ago, Seafood City said its Daly City store would be opening "soon."
That didn't happen -- thanks to delays in construction and the like. But the wait is finally over, and Seafood City has finally announced an opening date for its first Daly City store.
The grand opening of the highly anticipated Filipino supermarket is on Thursday, July 31 at 9 a.m., the grocery store announced on social media. Seafood City is located at 1420 Southgate Ave. in the St. Francis Square Shopping Center.
"Daly City, we’re almost there! Join us on Thursday, July 31 at 9 a.m. for the grand opening of your newest home for all things Filipino—right in the heart of St. Francis Square," Seafood City wrote in the post.
