The television personality shared that her daughter, Alex Drummond Scott, and son-in-law, Mauricio Scott, were visiting town to attend Cavalcade, the world’s largest amateur rodeo and a beloved annual tradition. The next morning, the family headed out for early church services, but the youngest member, little Sofia Scott, was feeling fussy.
Ree held Sofia on her lap, writing that the baby was "momentarily distracted but started getting fussy again" until the music began. That's when Ree's daughter Paige Drummond Andersen snapped two photos, capturing the sweet effect Ladd had on his granddaughter.

The Pioneer Woman star noted that, "Immediately, Sofia seemed to relax and come along for the ride." Ree and Ladd began singing, and Sofia was transfixed at her grandfather's hidden talent.
Ree wrote, "I don't like singing at the same octave as Ladd. Whether or not what I wrote makes musical sense, I really don't know. Basically, I'm an alto but I don't want to sing too low, so I harmonize. And old hymns are a harmonizer's paradise."
She added, "But it wasn't my expert (heh heh) harmonizing that calmed Sofia down. It was Ladd, aka Pa-Pa. She locked in and listened to him sing and bought us a good four minutes of utter contentment. New baby trick unlocked!"

Ree spends a lot of time with Sofia, visiting the infant at her Texas home and when her family visits the ranch. She and Ladd are enjoying being grandparents, and are known as Pa-Pa and Ree-Ree, a childhood nickname bestowed on the Food Network star by her mother Gerre Schwert.
