DENVER (KDVR) -- A woman and a 15-year-old girl are dead after another driver ran a red light and hit the woman and girl's vehicle early Sunday morning, according to Aurora police.

The woman and girl were in a Hyundai car driving west on Alameda Parkway crossing Airport Boulevard at about 2:49 a.m. when an Audi driven by an 18-year-old man ran a red light driving north on Airport Boulevard.

    The woman, 37, and the 15-year-old girl were killed by the impact of the crash, police said. The 18-year-old driver of the Audi is in the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and his passenger, a 16-year-old girl, had minor injuries.

    A third vehicle stopped in the turn lane of the intersection was not involved in the crash directly but received minor damage, and the driver had minor injuries.

    The 18-year-old is not in custody at this time, police said, but detectives are working with the district attorney's office regarding charges once the crash reconstruction is done.
