Kevin James is about to take on a whole new role — this time in the country music world.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live with guest host Jelly Rollon Thursday, July 17, James revealed his exciting new project — starring in a country music movie, and the iconic singer is joining him for the ride.
Jelly Roll, 40, hinted at the project, opening the interview with James, 60, by saying, “You have been prepping for a film I know you're excited about… You are coming into the country music space and you're going to shoot a country music film.” James responded by teasing the movie is “going to be a crazy one,” and is looking forward to doing it with Jelly Roll. “You know how crazy it is because my man is doing it with me. You’re going to be my partner in crime,” the singer, whose real name is Jason DeFord, quickly responded, “There’s no way I’m letting you do a country music movie and not be a part of it.”
The two are no stranger to tacking the country scene together. Earlier this year, James made a surprise appearance in the music video for Nate Smith and HARDY’s “Nobody Likes Your Girlfriend,” and in June, he shocked fans by joining Jelly Roll onstage at the Buckeye Country Superfest in Columbus, OH, where they performed a duet of “Need a Favor.” James also crashed Jelly Roll’s set at the Barefoot Country Music Fest in Wildwood, NJ.
