SUNCORP STADIUM – The British & Irish Lions sealed an impressive series-opening win over Australia in Brisbane on Saturday.
The Lions were 3-0 ahead within 90 seconds and barely looked back, with Sione Tuipulotu going on to score their opening try in the eighth minute after fine play from Finn Russell.
A second Lions try was then chalked off before Max Jorgensen briefly gave the Wallabies hope, only for Andy Farrell’s side to quickly hit back thanks to Tom Curry for a 17-5 half-time lead.
Dan Sheehan then added the Lions’ third try after the break, with scores from Tate McDermott and Carlo Tizzano too late for Australia to come back.
