DENVER (KDVR) — A resident reported finding what appeared to be a possible human bone along a trail in a Westminster open space on Friday.

According to the Westminster Police Department, the agency responded to the open space near 122nd Avenue and Park Centre Drive, which is near the Big Dry Creek Park and The Ranch Open Space and is situated between several neighborhoods.

The discovery was made at about 2:30 p.m. The agency did not clarify what kind of human bone may have been found, but said that the age of the remains is unknown.

A Boulder County Sheriff's Office cadaver dog was brought to the area to assist with the search. As of Friday evening, no further remains had been found.
