Bobby Flay has shared his cooking skills on plenty of talk shows and TV series — but there's one thing he wishes he could change.
The longtime Food Network star recently joked about chefs who appear on morning talk shows and how everything about their meals always seem to go exactly according to plan.
"They've never done this on the Today show. The Today show has been on for a million years. Every chef that comes on cooks the greatest thing on earth," Flay said with a laugh during an appearance on The Tonight Show.
He continued, "It's unbelievable! Savannah Guthrie's just like, 'This is unbelievable.'"

Instead, Flay joked that he wished morning shows would tell the truth everyone once in a while.
Late Night host Jimmy Fallon added, "You want them to call them out and go, 'This is terrible'" and Flay agreed, saying, "Exactly. Tell the truth. We want the truth on the Today show."
Fallon went on to recall a time where he had a chef visiting the show and things actually did go awry. When the chef realized the burner wasn't working, Fallon says he started making noises to imitate the stove.
"We had a chef on once and our burners weren't working. Something didn't work. So he started making the sizzling sound. He was going, 'Sizzzz,'" Fallon recalled with a laugh.
Fallon didn't reveal if the food ever got cooked — or what he thought of it.
Elsewhere in the interview, Flay announced his plans for a Broadway musical about his life — requesting Fallon's help to recruit Justin Timberlake to star in the show. Only time will tell if JT will sign on for the project.
