ROCHESTER, N.Y. — An 18-year-old is facing charges after Rochester Police say he shot a man on St. Paul Street on June 26.

Police say on June 26 at around 3 p.m. they responded to St. Paul Street and Division Street and found a man with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the upper body.
According to detectives, they found a 9mm Glock handgun o Division Street they say was used in the shooting. They say they also learned that the victim and the suspect, Jaquan Monroe, met downtown for a “transaction,” which ended with Monroe shooting the victim.
On July 14, the police department’s Tactical Unit found Monroe and took him into custody. He is charged with assault in the second-degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second-degree.
Monroe was arraigned at Rochester City Court and released with non-monetary conditions.
