ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Rochester teens got a chance to swim and skate for free at Rochester’s “R-Night Out” Summer Series on Thursday night.
The third annual swim and skate night took place at the Trenton and Pamela Jackson R-Center. The free event offered teens 13 to 18 food, games, and activities. Organizers say it’s important to find productive activities to keep kids away from the streets.
“It means everything because why not? If we can give our teens something to do in the evening, that’s what we should do,” said Carmen Jones, the community center’s manager.
There are two more “R-Night Night Out” events planned this season. There will be a Silent Disco Carnival on Thursday, Aug. 7, and a Slip n’ Slide Game Night on Thursday, Aug. 14. Both are happening at the Rochester Community Sports Complex on Oak Street and run from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
