LENOIR, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Two Caldwell County commissioners got into a fight before their meeting Monday night.
With a jam-packed meeting room, video shows Commissioners Jeff Branch and Donnie Potter suddenly getting into an argument, which quickly turned physical. The two threatened to lunge at one another, then Branch shoved his colleague before further tussling occurred.
The sheriff’s deputies already present quickly ran from the back of the room to break up the fight.
Branch wrote the following on his Facebook page:
Here’s what went on before Monday’s meeting. I regret what happened. And I know there’s a lot of stories being told about me. Don’t believe everything that you read on Facebook.
I promise we’ll handle our disagreements in a more professional way going forward
