Kylie Kelce is sharing a lie her husband, former NFL player Jason Kelce, has told their three older daughters, Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, and Bennett, 2.
During the July 17 episode of her podcast, Not Gonna Lie, Kylie told her guest actress Mandy Moore that Jason doesn't want to get a cat. According to Kylie, he has tried to convince his daughters that cats are poisonous to deter them from wanting a feline friend.
"I have a constant battle with my husband going on about when the time will be when we are allowed to get a cat. He doesn't care for cats and has told our kids they are poisonous," said Kylie to Moore.
Moore responded in shock, asking, "Really?" Kylie then replied that her husband did have a cat during his childhood.
"Yes, to be clear he had a cat growing up that he loved very much. And she was bada-s and she would catch birds in mid-air. And he was very impressed by her. He is convinced we don't need a cat," said Kylie on the podcast.
Kylie, who welcomed her and Jason's fourth child, Finnley, in April 2025, said she fully intends to get a cat.
"Regardless, we'll get a cat. We have a whole plan," said Kylie to Moore.
People magazine reported Jason admitted he was lying to his children about cats during a September 2024 episode of his and his brother, Travis Kelce's podcast, New Heights.
“You know what my latest plan to divert our family from getting a cat is? I just keep telling our girls that cats are poisonous,” said Jason to his brother.
He clarified that Kylie has told her daughters that cats are "not poisonous." However, he has kept up the lie because he doesn't "want another animal in the house," as their "dogs have already ruined the furniture."
“I'm like, listen, If you have a cat, the government will come and take it from you because it's they're so lethal that I mean, they can kill you ... and they don't even have to bite you. Just them licking you," said the former Eagles player.
He then said he would be okay getting a cat, as long as it lives outside.
