Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl-winner Rashee Rice sentenced to jail for role in multi-car crash

On Thursday, a Dallas County Judge delivered a hefty sentence to Rice that confirms he will serve jail time.

Rice was sentenced to five years of probation and 30 days of jail time, according to ESPN’s Rashee Rice.

The jail time can be served at any time during those five years of probation.

Rice also received deferred adjudication, meaning if he completes his probation the case will be dismissed.

Now that the judge has made a ruling, the NFL can expedite Rice’s disciplinary process.

It is expected that he will receive a multi-game suspension to start the season.

Dashcam footage of the accident was released after the hit and run occurred.

Video showed a Corvette and a Lamborghini driving at incredibly high speeds before the collision.

Six cars were caught up in the wreckage.

Both drivers of the Corvette and Lamborghini were seen immediately fleeing the scene.

After the incident occurred, it was speculated that Rice could be sat down by the NFL for half the 2024 season.

“He’s gonna be suspended, let’s put it out there,” Palmer said.

“They’re expecting half the season at least.”

However, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell indicated he wanted to wait for the legal process to wrap up before taking disciplinary action.

“First, we allow the legal process to move through,” Goodell said at the time.

“We obviously are following it closely and as soon as they are done with the process we will be engaged and be prepared to look at all of that under our personal conduct policy.”

Rice ended up playing in the 2024 season, but missed a considerable amount of time with an injury.

He was set to return to his No. 1 wide receiver role with the Chiefs this season, but will likely miss a considerable amount of time in 2025.

The NFL did not respond to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment by the time of publication.
