Investigators trying to determine the whereabouts of a missing Valley Center woman searched her rural home and property Wednesday.
Deputies served a search warrant at the home of Nadine Jett, 65, in the 14800 block of Oak Creek Road at about 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives decided to carry out the investigative effort “after receiving information related to an ongoing investigation,” sheriff’s Lt. Juan Marquez said. He did not elaborate.
According to CBS8, investigators could be seen “digging deep holes” on Jett’s roughly 20-acre residential property.
Sheriff’s officials did not disclose how long Jett is believed to have been missing. A neighbor of hers, however, stated in a July 2 letter to the editor of the Valley Roadrunner, a weekly newspaper published in Valley Center, that Jett disappeared in December 2023.
Recently, the neighbor wrote, squatters have been living on Jett’s property and causing disturbances that have prompted visits by sheriff’s deputies.
