Harry Potter alum Emma Watson has reportedly been banned from driving for six months after being fined for speeding.
Multiple U.K. outlets reported on Wednesday, July 16, that the 35-year-old actress has been banned from driving a car following a 2024 speeding infraction. Watson allegedly had nine points on her license before going 38mph in a 30mph zone last July. In the U.K., speeding typically gets you three points on your license - and 12 points in total results in a ban.
A five-minute hearing, which took place on Wednesday, ruled that Watson would also have to pay £1,044 (about $1,400) in fines as well. She was not present for the hearing.
Watson has been staying out of the public eye while working on her master's degree in creative writing at the University of Oxford. The actress rose to fame after playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film franchise rom 2001 to 2011. Her last acting role was as Meg March in the 2019's Little Women, though the actress has said that returning to acting is "absolutely" in her future.
