Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore continue to prove that their decades-long friendship has truly stood the test of time.
Since their Charlie’s Angels days, the two stars have maintained a close bond — and their latest reunion was another sweet reminder of it.
On Saturday, July 12, Barrymore, 50, showed up in full support at the Avaline x Stella McCartney event in Los Angeles. The celebration marked the launch of Diaz’s, 52, limited-edition French Rosé collaboration with the fashion brand.
During the mid-day poolside party, Barrymore was seen posing with the wine bottle and spending time with her bestie, in photos obtained by Page Six.
Barrymore wasn't the only notable star in attendance. The guest lineup was stacked with A-listers, including Emma Roberts, Alexandra Daddario, Andy Cohen and models Kate Love, Georgina Burke and Sailor Brinkley-Cook.
While Diaz had plenty of celebrity support, her interactions with Barrymore stood out — perhaps because they’ve been friends for many years.
Though many assume their friendship began after filming Charlie’s Angels in 2000, the two actually met years earlier. Barrymore has said she first met Diaz when she was working at a coffee shop in Los Angeles.
“We met when I was 14 and she was 16. I was working at a coffee house and she was a junior model,” Barrymore recalled during an Instagram Live cooking session. “She's still my bestie and sistie—sistie? That’s a new word. It’s Cameron Diaz! We’re here to talk and we have things to talk about!”
Diaz has echoed the same love for Barrymore over the years, once telling Cohen on SiriusXM in 2016, “We've been in this industry for a really long time together and that's a feat. To have people that you've known for that long–those are real relationships–it's real friendships, we've gone through a lot in life together.”
She added, “As you get older you start to lose people in your life and when you lose people in your life you have less of a purpose so it's really, really important to stay engaged.”
