ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The historic Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse hosted a free outdoor concert on Tuesday night featuring the Irondequoit Concert Band.
The band celebrated their golden anniversary last year, and they brought out some favorite pieces, both new and old, to symbolize those fifty years of music.
This year’s theme, “Playing It Forward,” is all about building on that fifty-year foundation. That means continuing to play old favorites and the classics of the wind band literature, while adding some newer works. And it also means bringing in new generations of both musicians and audiences.
Attendees brought lawn chairs and enjoyed the music and treats from a food truck.
Irondequoit Concert Band will be playing at Resurrection Lutheran Church on St. Paul Blvd. on Tuesday, July 29, at 7:15 p.m.
